Suspension of the operation of the Central Registry of Beneficial Owners

In accordance with the additional measures announced by the Greek Government aiming to support the businesses during this unprecedented crisis, the operation of the Central Registry of Beneficial Owners was suspended. In detail, pursuant to art. 18 of the Legislative Act dated 30.03.2020 the operation of the Central Registry of Beneficial Owners was suspended from 30.03.2020 till 30.06.2020. Therefore, during the above time period the deadlines for the registration of the liable legal entities’ beneficial owners with the relevant electronic system are also suspended. The suspension period may be extended for an equal period by virtue of a joint ministerial decision of the Ministers of Finance and Digital Government. Please also note that this suspension period shall not count towards the 60-day maximum term stipulated in art. 20 par. 13 of Law 4557/2018.
